Cover image for A lush and seething hell : two tales of cosmic horror / John Hornor Jacobs.

By John Horner Jacobs.

Dark, beautiful and maddening, these two tales explore the psychological horror of trying to uncover secrets that were buried for good reason. One story transports you to the depths of the dark gothic American South, the other plays out amidst a backdrop of corruption and war across Spain and South America. Lovecraft gets a run for his money!

Book Review – The Life We Bury

By Allen Eskens

This is a story of redemption, mystery and intrigue. I truly fell in love with a number of the characters in this book. Brilliant storytelling and character development weaves this tale of mystery together with just enough suspense and humour to make both your toes curl and your lips smile. I was sad when it ended after listening through the whole story in only two sittings. A young college student interviews a Vietnam Veteran who has been convicted of murder for a school project. However, the student gets more from the interview than just a school paper. A story of love, family struggles and resilience.
